How easy it is to maintain models in a modelling tool is very important and dependent upon the complexity and volume of the information. Here we compare how much effort it takes to maintain the information in the model as its complexity and volume increases.

While complexity and volume is low, the effort to maintain the information is generally low but disproportionally large for a Custom Tool due to the user interface and the conformity it enforces.

Keypoint

Adopt this component by...

As the complexity and volume of information grows, the effort to maintain it can quickly become impossible unless a custom EA modelling tool is used.

Questions to ponder...

How easily can you currently maintain the information in your EA Modelling Tool?

What is the current level of complexity/volume of information it contains?

What will the level of complexity/volume of information be in 1 year? 2 years? 5 years?

How will the effort required to maintain the information change over time?
