“Very positive. It made me think about what EA really is and the part I can play as a business systems analyst representing the Enterprise Architecture Office.” - Business Systems Analyst, Board of Equalization, USA, Jan 2015

“No - Haven't really spent enough time on it” - iran, ershad, Iran, Jul 2010

Here we show how the POET and PEAF adoption cycle compares to the TOGAF ADM.

Essentially POET and PEAF are all about the P (Preliminary) Phase or perhaps the Pragmatic Phase.

Although I had thought of the phrase “an EA Bootstrap” before, Chris Forde independently thought of exactly the same phrase during discussions I had with him in April 2012.

So, Pragmatic‘s frameworks are much more about making the necessary fundamental changes to an Enterprise’s Transformation capability - defining what those changes are, why they are important and getting the mandate and resources to make those changes, so that the Enterprise can increase its Transformation Maturity to an appropriate level.

Have you used TOGAF?

What did you do in the Preliminary Phase?

Did you get the mandate and resources required to increase your maturity?
