The Successful Architect will be responsible for:

Act as a consultant
to the management, evaluating and advising in technical,
organizational and environmental strategies

Gaining and
maintaining a common understanding across the
organization of the strategic direction, key tactical
activities and measures to be taken to achieve the given
goals

Providing frameworks,
models, structures and tools for creation and
maintenance of corporate strategy and IT strategy
-
Keep an up-to-date
overview of relevant markets, trends, technologies,
methodologies and frameworks, translate them into
opportunities and communicate those within the
organization
The Successful Architect
will have:
-
Solid experience in
planning, designing and implementing enterprise or
solution architectures and leading technical teams (plus
10 years of experience)
-
Certification or
experience in using one or more major EA and Business
Model frameworks / methods (Enterprise Canvas,
Osterwalder, Business Motivation Model, Zachmann, Togaf,
Gartner, PEAF, FEAF, or similar)
-
Understanding of BPM
and decision management, workflow and integration
methods and tools
-
ITIL/COBIT/Risk
Management certifications, IT Governance experience and
working in a global environment are a distinct advantage

Johnson & Johnson is
recruiting for a Technology Lead, Enterprise Architecture.
This position is located in Raritan, NJ.
The Technology Lead, Enterprise Architecture will support
the development and deployment of new, foundational
Enterprise Architecture enabling capabilities (including
processes, methods, and tools), for J&J. Initial focus will
be on the implementation of capabilities to support the
production and ongoing governance and management of
technical reference architectures. This position will report
to the Director, Enterprise Architecture.
Specific responsibilities will include the following;
-
Act as liaison to key
stakeholders in I/T Demand, Supply and ePMO
organizations, to ensure they are fully engaged in use
of new capabilities to deliver technical reference
architectures in accordance with new practice standards.
-
Act as focal point
for governance of changes and improvements to key EA
processes.
-
Define and implement
procedures to ensure that critical information used to
support EA practices, including architectural models,
data and knowledge, remains accurate and current.
-
Will work in
partnership with enterprise architects and program teams
on the design, deployment and ongoing management of
foundational EA enabling capabilities, including: EA
blueprinting methodology; EA operating model, key
processes, and metrics; EA knowledge management and
continual innovation practices; Standard tools for EA
governance, decision and design support; Training,
communications, and practice communities.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical
or analytic discipline, or equivalent experience is
required. A minimum of 5 years experience in IT roles
focused on architecture, design (including process design)
and/or analytics is required. Demonstrated experience in
enterprise architecture, or technical (solution)
architecture and design is required. Experience leading
cross-functional teams or initiatives, with demonstrated
ability to influence stakeholders and drive results is
required, preferably in matrixed, global organizations.
Training, certification or experience using one or more
major EA frameworks / methods (e.g. TOGAF, PEAF, FEAF or
DoDAF) is preferred. Lean Thinking process design experience
or skills are preferred. ITIL v3 certification is preferred.
Proficiency in office automation tools, such as Microsoft
Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
The following competencies are strongly preferred; Able to
conduct architectural modeling and analysis at varying
levels of abstraction, and for varying architectural scopes
and domains. Should be familiar with major modeling
frameworks and languages currently employed in the EA and/or
solution design space. Strong analytical skills, with the
ability to research, identify and apply appropriate measures
for varying problem types. Superior collaboration, teamwork
and partnering skills. Able to drive engagement with
stakeholders and colleagues, and influence/negotiate
decisions. Exercises good judgment in order to influence
decisions and negotiations, balance risk and innovation, and
encourage and strengthen communities of practice.
Forward-thinking in the application of innovative
technologies and methods to improve the practice of
architecture, and its communication to key constituents.
