more

Yes - Seriously I don't know .. However I liked it .. I may recommend all my architects to spend some time and understand PEAF and ask them to come back whether we can use it for our customers. Since they have very depth knowledge on the Business processe - Senior Architect, SLK Software Services Pvt LTD, India, Jan 2015

Here we see the main sub-disciplines involved in Requirements Management.

Note that these disciplines are highly iterative and that iterations could take milliseconds inside someone's head or could take weeks or even months.

The specific plan/process that will be followed is passed from the phase above.

Analyse

Here the Requirements we are passed from the phase above, are understood and the reasons for them (in the context of the Assessment we are passed from the phase above).

This is accomplished in many ways, but one way is to use different types of abstraction (Omission, Composition, Generalisation, Idealisation) in effect, moving up the abstraction hierarchy.

Refine

Here the Requirements we are passed from the phase above, are refined to the level that this phase requires (in the context of the Assessment we are passed from the phase above).

This is accomplished in many ways, but one way is to use different types of elaboration (Inclusion, Decomposition, Specialisation, Realisation) in effect, moving down the elaboration hierarchy.

Assess

Here the Requirements are assessed and the reasons for the refinements are recorded.

Following this discipline, the Governance & Lobbying discipline is utilised to ensure that the work done is fit for purpose and that any problems or opportunities that have been discovered by performing it are documented and raised for resolution.

How does this discipline map to your Enterprise?

Does the discipline your Enterprise uses include all of these required inputs and outputs?

If not, what do you need to change? Who is Responsible for making them? And who is Accountable for making sure the changes are made?
