It is useful to note how other classification schemes have been used to try to fully describe the structure of something, although they tend to always concentrate around the Logical and Physical levels (yellow and green).

POLDAT (Process, Organisation, Location, Data, Applications, Technology) is a common one:

Process comes under the Methods domain of MACE - which is a higher level category including other things such as Functions and Practices.

Organisation comes under the Culture domain of MACE- which is a higher level category including other things like culture, relationships and people.

Location comes under the Environment domain of MACE - which is a higher level category including other things such as Frameworks and Technology (not just IT).

If the Data, Applications and Technology are being used to perform the Methods, then they would come under Environment.

If the Data, Applications and Technology are being produced by the Methods, then they would come under Artefacts.

People, Process and Technology is another:

People come under the Culture domain of MACE - which is a higher level category including other things like culture, relationships and organisational structure.

Process comes under the Methods domain of MACE - which is a higher level category including other things such as Functions and Practices.

Technology (generally interpreted as IT) comes under the Environment domain of MACE - which is a higher level category including other things such as Frameworks, Locations and other Technologies.

Do you use People Process, Technology, and if so, what are you missing?

Do you use POLDAT, and if so, what are you missing?

What are you using and are you missing anything?
